Course description

Course description:
The present, intensive 5 days course ”Domestic Animal Reproduction - Ovary” mainly deals with the most common domestic animals in Nordic countries but also contains an introduction to the female reproduction in New World camelids. It covers ovarian function and its disturbances in cow, sow, mare, bitch and queen as well as endocrinological regulation of ovarian function. Also analytical methods of reproductive hormones and their receptors are included. Recent advances in methods to monitor ovarian function will be presented. All PhD student participants will have to shortly present their research project which will be discussed.

Date and venue:
The course will be held 31 May - 4 June at the Department of Production Animal Medicine, Mäntsälä, Finland. The department situates about 70 km to north of Helsinki. Costs:
The costs will be charged according to NOVA instructions (found at the NOVA pages). For BOVA students the cost of accomodation and meals is 350€. For the PhD students from outside the Nordic and Baltic countries the course fee is 300€, and accomodation and meals 350€.
