Course description
The course will deal with the fundamental of ventilation in livestock production building including air distribution, ventilation efficiency, aiflow pattern and momentum control, experimental and computational air fluid dynamics, modelling & measurement of mass transfer, including gas, particles & odour emission and dispersion in air.
By going through this course, the students will achieve the fundamental knowledge of ventilation and its relation to indoor air quality, air motion and emission in and from the room air space. The students shall be able to estimate and analysis the indoor thermal climate condition, airflow, air quality and effects on emissions by using the ventilation conditions and system information. Finally, the students shall be able to design and perform the basic research activities including laboratory experiments for measurements, control air motion; measurements and analysis of airflow characteristics and the effects on emission. Concept of the modeling approach for emission estimation and numerical simulation shall be also addressed and introduced in the course.
Course period:
Modular 1, 12 days; April 2010
Modular 2, 12 days, Sept. 2010
