Nordic students will be taken to Ethiopia to study tropical soils - degradation, use and rehabilitation - in an authentic setting. By lectures, excursions and lab work the students will be familiarized with soil chemistry, physics and biology as well as with agricultural production, ecology and social aspects of land use. The course site is Awassa in the Great Rift Valley. and the time is late October 2010. Ethiopian students and teachers will participate and contribute with local expertise to create academic partnership. The course including travel will last for 14 d.
